Gidugu Rammurthy garu was a multilinguist, historian, social reformer and rationalist. He is considered the father of pragmatic Telugu linguistics. He laid the foundation and paved the way for a linguistic revolution in Telugu. He encouraged writing in vernacular, everyday language which could be easily understood by the common man. With this, books which were once restricted to and enjoyed by only a few scholars, now became available to the masses. This presentation offers a glimpse into the life of Rammurthy Panthulu garu, and his thoughts and works.
