Knowledge is a familiarity, awareness or understanding of someone or something. It can be facts, skills or objects. Regardless of the industry, its size, or knowledge needs of the organization, we always need people to lead, sponsor, and support knowledge sharing. We need defined processes to manage and measure knowledge flows. Knowledge management is the process by which an enterprise gathers, organizes, shares and analyses its knowledge in a way that is easily accessible to employees. It comprises data mining and some method of operation to make information available to users so that it is easily accessible for them. It refers to multidisciplinary approach to achieve organizational objectives by making the best use of knowledge. The four components of knowledge management are people, process, content/IT and strategy. In simple terms, knowledge management process is the way in which a business manages knowledge. It includes capturing, storage, organization, verification, security, distribution and use of knowledge.
