The Mahabharata was first written in Telugu by three great poets - Nannayya, Thikkana and Errapradaga. These three, together, are known as 'Kavitryam'. They were not contemporaries and were born within a timespan of about 150 years, in the 11th and 12th centuries. They wrote the great epic by taking up the work that was left incomplete by the earlier poets.
