The author of this letter is James, assumed (with good evidence) to be the brother of Jesus Christ Himself. A very simple and easy-to-understand book, it has a relatively simpler style of writing when compared to the other epistles which are mostly Paul's. Mostly recommended to beginners who are new to epistles, it discusses subjects that are vital but, often missed. For example, the control over our words; over our tongue. James also points out that faith without deeds are as good as dead. Although simpler and an easy read, it does lay out harder life applications like, rejoicing in times of trials. Key verse from the book of James: (1:19) My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
