Wikileaks describes itself as a "colossal library of the world's most persecuted papers." WikiLeaks is a non-profit organisation based in the United Kingdom that publishes private, secret, and classified media from anonymous news sources, news leaks, and whistleblowers. Wikileaks has won several honours, and government transparency and freedom of speech are both achievable. The drawbacks are as follows: National security will be jeopardised if critical government information is leaked, and criminals may take advantage of this. Government authorities from a number of other Western countries expressed strong dissatisfaction and chastised Wikileaks for putting global security and international relations at risk just for personal gain. However, outlets such as WikiLeaks have received a strong response from media analysts, journalists, and the general people, who have begun to speak out loudly about the potential dangers of government secrecy. Indeed, several surveys show that, as a result of Wiki disclosures, individuals in many countries have begun to spend more time on the internet than watching television. After all is said and done, there is no doubt that Wikileaks confirms the age-old truth: "The Government is corrupt."
