Designers craft spaces that anticipate our needs and appeal to our emotions while pulling from a broad set of skills and technical knowledge. Interior designing deals with making interior spaces more attractive with structure, colour schemes, furnishings and decorations. It is important to emphasize that interior design is a specialized branch of architecture or environmental design. The field of interior design already has a number of specialized areas. One of the newer areas is ‘space planning’ that analyses space needs, allocation of space, and the interrelation of functions within business firms. Interior designers should be sharp-minded, punctual, proactive, creative as well as technically sound. An interior designer’s role is multi-faceted, but fundamentally commences with providing accurate design advice for the optimal safe occupation of those who work, live or use an interior space.
