We see children playing with soap bubbles and different colour patterns in the bubbles. This happens because of the interference of light. The distribution of light energy when two or more light waves superimpose to each other is known as Interference. Wave theory is used to explain interference. Interference is classified as constructive and destructive. In constructive, amplitude of the waves increases and in destructive it decreases. When two waves move in the same direction with different wavelengths interference occurs. Holography uses interference. More details are in the slides. Please see.
