“I think pride is more important sometimes than making money” – Kapil Dev. The ‘Haryana Hurricane’ is one of the fastest bowlers the cricket world has ever seen. He could bowl at a speed of 140 Kmph which earned him the nick name ‘Haryana Hurricane’. Kapil Dev’s role in taking cricket to the most popular sport of cricket is outstanding. In 1983, he made Indians proud by bringing the Cricket World cup to Indian land for the first time. He is not just a bowler but an aggressive batsman too who had a penchant for hitting sixes frequently. He has written three autobiographical works. By ‘God’s Decree’ came out in 1985 and ‘Cricket my style’ in 1987. He released his most recent autobiography, titled ‘Straight from the Heart’ in 2004.
