Born on January 6, 1967, as A. S. Dileep Kumar, Allah Rakha Rahman is a Tamil and Hindi film composer, record producer, vocalist, and songwriter from India. He received the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honour, from the Indian government in 2010. Rahman has received numerous honours, including six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammys, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, fifteen Filmfare Awards, and seventeen Filmfare Awards South. Beginning in the early 1990s with the Tamil film Roja, Rahman's work as a film composer was carried out through his own studio, Panchathan Record Inn. At the 2010 Grammy Awards, he also won for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Click through this PPT to learn more about the renowned vocalist.
