Born on January 6, 1967, as A. S. Dileep Kumar, Allah Rakha Rahman is a Tamil and Hindi film composer, record producer, vocalist, and songwriter from India. He received the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honour, from the Indian government in 2010. Rahman has received numerous honours, including six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammys, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, fifteen Filmfare Awards, and seventeen Filmfare Awards South. Beginning in the early 1990s with the Tamil film Roja, Rahman's work as a film composer was carried out through his own studio, Panchathan Record Inn.
