Intelligence

Presentations | English

While intelligence is one of the most debated topics in psychology, there is no universally accepted definition of intelligence. Some academics believe intelligence is a single, all-encompassing capacity. Others say intelligence is a collection of abilities, skills, and capabilities. Throughout psychology's history, intelligence has been a contentious issue. Despite the high level of interest in the issue, there is still a lot of debate on what makes up intelligence. Aside from the challenge of how to define intelligence precisely, there is still discussion today over whether reliable measures are even attainable. Logic, thinking, problem-solving, and planning are some of the mental talents that make up intelligence. While intelligence is one of the most studied and explored issues, it is also one of the most contentious. While psychologists disagree on the definition and causes of intelligence, intelligence study is important in a variety of fields. In the early twentieth century, a German psychologist called William Stern invented the term "intelligence quotient," or IQ.
