Information Privacy

Presentations | English

Ever heard of Informtion Privacy? Privacy protects our information we do not want shared publicly. Privacy gives us the power to choose our thoughts and feelings and who we share them with. When something is private to a person, it usually means that something is inherently special or sensitive to them. Information privacy is the privacy of personal information and usually relates to personal data stored on computer systems. The domain of privacy partially overlaps with security, which can include the concepts of appropriate use and protection of information. Privacy helps protect us as individuals, and our businesses, against entities we depend on or that are more powerful than us. There are four different types of privacy protection: physical, virtual, third-party and legislation. Information privacy focuses on anything that leaves an information trail, whether or not that trail is digital. Generally speaking, information privacy is the idea that individuals should have the freedom to determine how their digital information is collected and used.
