Important Medicines Used in Digestive System

Presentations | English

Digestive illnesses are conditions that affect the digestive system. The severity of the condition might range from mild to severe. Heartburn, cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and lactose intolerance are some of the common problems. Functional and structural GI disorders are the two types of GI disorders. Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) are conditions in which the gastrointestinal tract has no anatomical abnormalities but is not functioning properly. Chest discomfort, heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diarrhea, constipation, incontinence, dyspepsia, and infant colic are all examples of functional GI diseases. Abnormalities in the GI tract cause structural GI diseases. Ulcerative colitis, hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, Crohn's disease, and colon cancer are all examples of structural GI problems. Gastrointestinal agents are a diverse group of medications used to treat gastrointestinal problems. There are different classes of gastrointestinal agents used for treating gastrointestinal disorders, like 5-aminosalicylates, antacids, antidiarrheals, laxatives, digestive enzymes, functional bowel disorder agents and so on.
