The advertisements wherein a thief get easily caught due to the alarm system is quite common. What if the same technology is used for computing systems or e - devices. That's where IDS comes into play. IDS stands for Intrusion Detection System. It is software or a device that secures networks seeming out any malicious activities or violations. This information is categorized and sent to an administrator using a security information and event management (SIEM) system. It can be used for single systems or multiple systems. IDS is of two types: network intrusion detection systems (NIDS) and host-based intrusion detection systems (HIDS). IDS works similar to a centralized security alarm system and is different from. the traditional protective measure like a firewall.
