After the fall of the Kakatiya Empire, the Delhi Sultans carried out numerous attacks on the region in an attempt to establish their rule on the southern parts of the subcontinent. It was the successful defence put up by the Reddy Rajulu that held back the Delhi Sultans and stopped them from making inroads into parts of the the former Kakatiya region.
