The earliest organisms to arise on Earth were single-celled microbes. The founder of microbiology is a textile trader from Delft named Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (1632–1723). He explored the microscopic realm of microbes using handmade microscopes. The invention of the microscope was effectively the beginning of microbiology. Although others may have encountered germs before him, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek was the first to properly describe his findings. His hobbies included lens grinding and building microscopes. In-depth understanding about the subject will be provided in the presentation.
