The branch of Biology which studies heredity and variation is called Genetics. Genes are the hereditary unit that determines the characters of an organism. Genes are famously known as the Blueprint of life and they are located in chromosomes. A sample of DNA is tested to evaluate the possible health hazards of an individual. This process is called Genetic Analysis. It can be defined as a study and research of genetics and molecular biology. Single change in the gene may cause diseases. External factors may influence inherited diseases and researchers find it difficult to analyse. The applications developed from these researches too are a part of the process. Identifying genes and inherited disorders is fundamental. It can help in diagnosing diseases including cancer. Different types of genetic analysis are there. The order of nucleotide bases is determined using a process called DNA Sequencing. This plays a role in identifying genetic traits and behaviours. Please go through the 40 slides on Genetic Analysis.
