Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been ruled by many dynasties over the millennia. Naturally, the various rulers have built many a fort for themselves. Many of these forts can be found even today, mostly in ruins. This multi-part series brings to you interesting information of these forts, including the names of the rulers who built them, their unique architecture, the wars fought there, and so on. Covered in this part is the spectacular Orugallu Kota, more popularly known today as the Warangal Fort. The fort is also known as Warangal Durgam, Musunuri Kammanayakula Kota and Kakatiyula Kota. This was built in the 12th century and what remains today is its ruins. The arches of this fort are today the pride of the Telugu people and decorate the Telangana State emblem. The fort’s construction was begun in 1199 AD by the Kakatiya emperor Ganapathi Deva and was completed during his daughter, Rani Rudrama Devi’s reign. ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ మరియు తెలంగాణ ఎన్నో వేల సంవత్సరాలుగా వివిధ రాజులచే పాలించబడ్డాయి. సహజంగానే, వీరిలో అనేక మంది పాలకులు తమ కోసం కోటలను నిర్మించుకున్నారు. ఈ కోటలు చాలావరకు శిధిలావస్థలో నేడు కూడా కనిపిస్తాయి. ఈ మల్టీ-పార్ట్ సిరీస్ తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలలోని కోటల గురించి, అనగా వాటిని నిర్మించిన పాలకుల పేర్లు, వారి ప్రత్యేక నిర్మాణం, అక్కడ జరిగిన యుద్ధాలు మొదలైన ఆసక్తికరమైన సమాచారాన్ని మీకు అందిస్తుంది. ఈ భాగంలో ఓరుగల్లు కోట, అనగా వరంగల్ కోట గురించి వివరించబడింది. దీనిని వరంగల్ దుర్గం, ముసునూరి కమ్మనాయక రాజుల కోట, కాకతీయుల కోట అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు. ఇది 12వ శతాబ్దంలో నిర్మించబనది. ఇప్పుడు కోట యొక్క అవశేషాలు మాత్రమే మిగిలినాయి. కోట యొక్క శిలాతోరణ స్తంభాలు ఇప్పటి తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర రాజముద్రగా వాడుకలో ఉన్నాయి. ఈ ఓరుగల్లు కోట నిర్మాణం కాకతీయ వంశానికి చెందిన గొప్ప చక్రవర్తి గణపతి దేవుడు క్రీ.శ.1199 వ సంవత్సరంలో ప్రారంభించగా, ఆయన కుమార్తె రాణి రుద్రమదేవి దీనిని పూర్తి చేసింది. కోట చరిత్ర గురించి మరెన్నో ఆసక్తికరమైన విశేషాలు మీకు ఈ ప్రదర్శనలో అందజేయడం జరుగుతోంది.
