Electronic commerce, often known as E-commerce or e-Commerce, is a term that refers to a variety of business transactions. It includes both organisational and individual operations such as the processing and transmission of digitised data such as text, images, sound, and video, among others. Universality, Intercommunication, Delivery of Information, Electronic Completion of Business Processes, Technology Mediated, Technology-Enabled, Virtual Communities, Customization and Inter-Disciplinary Nature are the major features of E - Commerce. E-Commerce involves buying and selling via websites. The websites are universal in that they may be accessed from anywhere in the world at any time. E-commerce allows buyers and sellers to communicate in both directions. Firms can communicate with customers via E-commerce enabled websites on the one hand. Customers, on the other hand, can fill out order forms, provide comments, and contact with the companies who run the business. The finest mode of communication is through e-commerce. E-commerce technologies provide for rapid distribution of information at a low cost while also significantly increasing information density. We may use E-commerce to conduct global commercial operations such as accounting and inventory management. Buyers and sellers connect in cyberspace rather than at a physical location in E-commerce. As a result, E-commerce does not require face-to-face interaction. Traditional commerce has existed since the beginning of time, but E-commerce is the consequence of combining digital technology with corporate procedures and commercial transactions.
