Evaluation is one of the methods for obtaining feedback from students on what their teachers have taught them. In most circumstances, the behavioural objectives of the instruction or course in question are used to assess students' achievement. As a result, instructional or behavioural objectives offer us with a set of benchmarks against which we can assess learning. In ELT, initial testing is typically one of two types: a diagnostic exam to aid in the development of a syllabus and course plan, or a placement test to place students in the appropriate class for their level. Whereas to improve and customise the learning programme, formative testing is performed. Formal evaluation usually entails a written report and a scoring system. In objective assessment, there is just one correct response. Subjective tests are those that have open-ended questions and rely on marker's judgement.
