In this 3-part series, we bring to you in brief information about the various dynasties that ruled the lands of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In the first part, are covered the traces of prehistoric presence of people in these lands as well as mention of the 'Andhras' in various puranas and ithihaasas. Dynasties beginning with the Mauryas (321 BC - 187BC), the Satavahanas (220 BC - 200 AD), the Kalingas (200 AD - 420 AD), the Ikshvakus (225 AD - 300 AD), Bruhatpalaayanulu (around 275 AD) and the Ananda Gothrikulu (295 AD - 600 AD) are covered in this part.
