Driverless cars are automatic robotic vehicles that do not require drivers but instead, they are capable of driving on their own. They are also known as autonomous vehicles or AVs. As of now, there are no fully self-driving cars in existence. The vehicles introduced by Tesla and Ford are not driverless but level 2 mechanism of the same where the driver can stop controlling the vehicle for a moment or two but be constantly alert and ready to take over any second, the world hopes for a fully self-driving car by the year 2025, as predicted by Mobileye CEO Amnon Shashua.
