Describing words are the words used to describe or give more information about a noun which could be a person , place or object. Describing words tell us more about nouns. Descriptive words aid in the visualisation, description, definition, and explanation of data about people, places, things, situations, or actions. When most people think of descriptive words, they think of adjectives, which are words that describe nouns. However, many descriptive words are not adjectives. Adverbs, or words that help describe action, are examples of descriptive words. Clear, strong verbs or nouns with clear meaning can also be descriptive words. The goal of descriptive words is to help people understand what they're talking about.
