Delegation

Presentations | English

“You can delegate authority, but you cannot delegate responsibility.” Delegation does not include instructing others what to do. Rather, it entails discussing the consequences and results that are intended. Then they are supposed to figure out the 'how' and the procedures required. Begin by communicating your desired outcome to the individuals you trust to deliver it. Establish controls, define job boundaries, and offer enough assistance, but oppose upward delegating. Keep track of progress and concentrate on outcomes rather than procedures. Finally, when the task is finished, give credit where credit is due. Delegation allows you to make the most use of your time and talents while also assisting others on the team to grow and develop in order to realize their maximum potential within the business. It's as easy as that: superiors give authority to subordinates in the workplace. Delegation is not the same as abdicating responsibility or dumping duties on someone else's desk. Effective delegation demonstrates that you care.
