Acres of forest land are being cut down as a result of human intervention, primarily urbanisation or industrial activities. This had a negative impact on the ecosystem, climate, and wildlife. Deforestation can also be caused by natural causes such as forest fires or parasite diseases. Forest land was cleared primarily for agricultural purposes. Other factors include new construction projects and urban growth. Its main effects are on living organisms whose habitat was destroyed when trees were cut down. This process has an impact on people who rely on raw materials and food from forest areas. One of the consequences of logging is soil erosion. Climate change is also one of the consequences. The presentation slides contain additional information on this subject.
