ER or Entity Relationship Model has wide usages nowadays. It is in practice for more than 30 years. One among the greatest uses of ER model is the Data Modeling. It is well suited to data modelling for use with databases because it is fairly abstract and is also easy to explain. The two important concepts on which data modelling is bases upon include: Entities/things and Relationships/associations. By using different diagrams and symbols, a software system is documented. This is what is called data modelling. The types of attributes under ER model are of various types: simple, composite, multi-valued and so on. Data modeling is the process of creating a data model for the data to be stored in a database.
