Our love for cricket is boundless. It is quite amazing that in India, cricket is not just a game but it is treated as a religion and players are worshipped as gods. The roots of cricket in India lie with the British raj in India. Technically, cricket is a bat and ball game played by two teams. It is played with two teams of 11 players each on a field at the centre of which is a 20 metre pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Cricket is played as competition and also for fun. It is established as a team game in which the team skills and social skills plays critical role in winning the sport. It originated in England and is now very popular in countries such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, the West Indies and South Africa.
