"What is chromatin structure and what is gene regulation? A chromosome is a condensed form of chromatin fibres. These chromatins are viewed as ‘beads-on-string’ structure, under a microscope. This is what is called the chromatin structure. It is these chromosomes that contribute to gene regulation. Regulation of gene expression happens at various level. The process of gene regulation refers to the action of repressing and inducing the expression of a gene which would include structural and chemical changes to the genetic material of an individual. Since the process occurs at different levels, there are several types of gene regulation mechanisms as well. Enzyme is such an example of the mechanism of gene regulation.
