The developing stages of a child is the changes in physical language, thought and emotional changes occur from birth to beginning of adulthood. Strongly influenced by genetic factors, events of prenatal life, environmental facts and child's learning capacity. It includes cognition, which is ability to learn and solve problems, social interaction, emotional regulation, speech and language, physical skills and sensory awareness. Observing child development is important to ensure that the child is on track with age. Effective parenting is responding to children, showing warmth and sensitivity, having routines, following household rules, sharing things, using appropriate discipline that is not harsh. Developmental milestones are things a child do within a certain age and varies from child to child. A common concern is developmental delay, which is age related and is diagnosed by comparison with characteristic variablity of a milestone.
