Child development does not mean developing your child into the person you think they should be, but helping them develop into the best person they are meant to be. “Child development”, or “child and adolescent development” refer to the process of growth and maturation of the human individual from conception to adulthood. Children and adolescents have needs and capacities that are significantly different from those of adults. Although certain general features of child development are predictable, there are significant cultural differences in the ways in which children and adolescents develop, and in the beliefs, goals and expectations and childrearing practices that shape development. The presentation gives further insight on the topic.
