Biological processes in our body are directly connected to the chemical principles. Chemistry of Life studies this phenomena. It studies the structure and function of biomolecules including nucleic acids, proteins, lipids. Chemistry of Life is a basic need in all aspects of life. Biology is the study of living things. The key to understand Biology is to understand the chemistry which underpins all life. The chemistry of life begins with the basic principles of nature of elements and different compounds. Elements in various combinations comprise all matter including living things. Carbon , Hydrogen , Nitrogen, Oxygen etc are in plenty in living bodies. Proteins, Carbohydrates, Fats are formed from this. In Digestion there are a number of chemical reactions taking place. Water is fundamental to life. The metabolism of a cell occurs inside it's cytoplasm. Cells are made by macro molecules such as nucleic acids , Proteins , Carbohydrates etc. The fundamental component of these macro molecules is Carbon. These technical aspects give a general idea.
