The 'Gyaan Vigyana Yoga' or the 'path of enlightenment and knowledge' is the 7th chapter in the Bhagavad Gita. The chapter has been described as the unison of the Supreme and Arjuna through experimental knowledge. Through this chapter, Lord Krishna reveals who he is, being the eternal being, Supreme Truth and the one who causes and sustains everything in balance. Further, He explains the significance of ‘gyan’ or knowledge and of unity or enlightenment or ‘vigyan’ and its application within ‘karma’ or action. He reveals the ‘maya’, the illusionary energy He brings with Him. Lord Krishna also reveals the difficulty behind overcoming ‘maya’ although it is possible for those who present themselves to Him and surrender their minds to Him in devotion. He also goes on to explain the four types of people who surrender his mind to him and the four types who do not while confirming that he is the Supreme Reality.
