Can you imagine the fast-growing technology without the basic cell and battery? A cell is known as a single unit device that converts electrical energy to chemical energy, while a battery is a group of different cells. A cell can be either of wet, dry, fuel, or reserve type depending on the kind of electrolytes used, while a battery is either rechargeable or non-rechargeable. They are practically used in most of the portable electronic devices that we use today. The battery typically stores energy whereas a cell generates energy by converting available resources. The cells in an automotive battery are contained within the same hard rubber housing, connected with thick, lead bars instead of wires. The electrodes and electrolyte solutions for each cell are contained in separate, partitioned sections of the battery case. An ideal battery is an emf source that maintains a constant terminal voltage, independent of the current between the two terminals and The ideal cell is defined to be the cell will zero internal resistance.
