Can you imagine a single cell dividing incessantly and abruptly to make an entire organ and slowly an entire organism!!!. Well, this is exactly what is called cell division. The cell is the basic unit of life that sustains life on this planet. Cell division is mainly of two types. They are mitosis and meiosis. The former constitutes the simple division of a cell into two with the same chromosome number. The latter on the other hand divides twice to form 4 cells with half the chromosomes. Mitosis or Meiosis, cell division is primarily happening simultaneously and continuously. It helps in growth, regeneration and birth.
