Biological cells represent the basic structural and fundamental units of life. Cells can be defined as entities capable of supporting an independent life. However, we must know that cells itself are houses of complex biochemical and biophysical activities working to generate the life forces to sustain the life on this planet. Cells are further compartmentalized into organelles that act as biochemical factories generating reactants and products essential for the normal physiological functioning of organisms. This presentation defines the cell, its structural and organelle distribution, their working and cross-talk supported by detailed illustrations. Furthermore, these slides cover the cellular reproduction, locomotion and metabolism made easy-to-understand for general masses.
