CASE tools are the tools that are incorporated in Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) to support different stages and milestones in a software development life cycle. Typically there are six types of CASE tools viz. Diagramming tools, Computer Display and Report Generators, Analysis tools, Central Repository, Documentation Generators and Code Generators. Diagramming tools such as Flow Chart Maker Tool helps in representing the data and system processes diagrammatically and graphically. Computer Display and Report Generators makes it easier to understand the data requirements and the relationships involved in the process of Software development. It focuses on inconsistent, incorrect specifications involved in the diagram and data flow. Analysis tools like Accept 360, Accompa, CaseComplete and Visible Analyst helps to collect requirements as well as implementing automated verification for any irregularity, imprecision in the diagrams, data redundancies or erroneous omissions. It provides the single point of storage for data diagrams, reports and documents related to project management. Central Repositories are the tools that help in generating user and technical documentation. Doxygen, DrExplain, Adobe RoboHelp are some of the Central Repository tools for documentation. And the code generators help to auto generate codes, including definitions, with the help of the designs, documents and diagrams. Please check the below presentation for detailed description.
