How about we look into the history of Cake? The ancient Egyptians are thought to have created the first cake. Egyptians often made honey-sweetened dessert bread, which was likely the earliest version of cakes. The cake is a form of sweet food made from flour, sugar, and other ingredients, that is usually baked. The term "cake" has a long history. The word itself is of Viking origin, from the Old Norse word "kaka". The term cake was used for the smaller breads. Cakes originally were a coarse, bread-like product, and later became a much sweeter version, called Geburtstagorten. Cakes were usually baked for special occasions because they were made with the finest and most expensive ingredients available to the cook. The most commonly used cake ingredients include flour, sugar, eggs, butter or oil or margarine, a liquid, and a leavening agent, such as baking soda or baking powder. Europe is credited with the invention of modern cakes, which were round and topped with icing. Scotland is the country called the land of cakes. Cakes can be savored after our main course. They not only aid in digestion but also help to tickle your taste buds. The delicious flavors of the cake make them the perfect companion of any cuisine.
