“Socialism In Europe and The Russian Revolution” is a chapter in the NCERT social science textbook named “India and the Contemporary World - I” of standard IX. Russia was one of the least industrialized of European states. Socialists took over the government in Russia through the October Revolution of 1917. The fall of monarchy in February 1917 and the events of October are together termed the Russian Revolution. In this 4-part series, we bring to you an interesting and easy-to-understand explanation of the events that led to socialism taking root in Europe, the unfolding of the Russian Revolution and the impact it had on not only Russia but also on the rest of Europe.
