We are really excited about buying when there is a lot of fear and we are really excited about selling when there is a lot of greed, in the stock market. The financial markets for stocks, bonds, and commodities are greatly impacted by consumer's confidence. Bulls and bears in stock exchange describe how stock markets are performing. Whether they are appreciating or depreciating in value. In a bull market, the investment prices are rising for a sustained period and the economy will be sound, while a bear market exists in an economy that is receding, where most stocks are declining in value. A bear market can be more dangerous to invest in, as many equities lose value and prices become volatile. A bull market is typified by a sustained increase in prices. The sustainable increase in price develops faith in investors. A market is usually not considered a true "bear" market unless it has fallen 20% or more from recent highs. In a bear market, the economy slows down and unemployment rises rapidly.
