Brain Drain has to be Stopped

Presentations | English

If the country is to keep its intellectual wealth and grow, it must stop brain drain. Brain drain is the exodus of highly qualified workers from their native countries to countries with better pay and working conditions. The country loses a lot of money that was put in students for training. The same minds that excel outside the country can offer immense value within it. Compensation packages must be changed to reflect individual merit and made equivalent to those in the West, at least in terms of purchasing power. Recognition of a person's value is a key aspect in employee retention. Every individual must contribute to the upkeep and expansion of government-provided utilities and facilities. For every country to be able to use its greatest resources for progress and future generations, brain drain must be stopped and reversed. The ongoing Puerto Rican fiscal crisis has resulted in a major brain drain as of 2019. The island has been particularly hard struck by the exodus of qualified medical professionals.
