Biometric technology is something very familiar yet sophisticated. Any new smart device released these days come with a biometric sensor for our fingerprint or facial recognition. But what exactly is this gizmo that has redefined or security and surveillance systems? Biometric technology measures and notes down our physical features and use them to identify us in the future. Old times when everything was just password protected has gone by. Complex systems that use passwords along with biometric recognition systems now guard our data and information both online and offline. India government’s Unique Identification Program better known as the Aadhaar card incorporates biometric systems. It makes use of facial recognition, fingerprints and iris scan besides our physical data such us name, age and address. Similarly, countries and governments around the world has established systems based on biometrics for identification, safety and security. But there arise some deep-rooted questions.
