Renewable energy is produced by living organisms, primarily plants and animals, and is still used in many countries for cooking and heating. Biomass fuels are increasingly being used for transportation in many developed countries. The energy is the sun's stored chemical energy. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert solar energy into biomass energy. It is obtained by directly burning or converting to renewable liquid through various processes. Wood, crops, municipal solid waste, animal manure, and human sewage are all sources. Direct combustion, chemical, biological, and thermochemical conversion are all methods of converting biomass to energy. Biofuels such as biodiesel and ethanol rely on biomass conversion.
