Benefits of Book Reading

The more one individual reads, the more his understanding and comprehending skills improve. Reading is good for you because it improves your focus, memory, empathy and communication skills. It can reduce stress, improve your mental health and help you live longer. Reading also allows you to learn new things to help you succeed in your work and relationships. Exposure to vocabulary through reading (particularly reading children’s books) not only leads to higher score on reading tests, but also higher scores on general tests of intelligence for children. Plus, stronger early reading skills may mean higher intelligence later in life. It is a great motivation for an individual to do better in life. Some benefits of book reading are: It keeps your brain healthy, it helps you sleep better, reduce stress and so on. It is a way to rewire how your brain works in general. It strengthens your ability to imagine alternative paths, remember details, picture detailed scenes and think through complex problems.
