Aviation Law covers all areas of airline, aircraft and airport operations. These include but are not limited to areas such as aircraft engineering and maintenance, airline safety. air traffic control, airline business operations and airline liability. Many of these laws have their origin in maritime law. The Warsaw Convention of 1929 , was one of the most widely used conventions which governed liability of airlines in case of injury or death of passengers and damage to baggage and cargo on international commercial air transportation. It spells out compensation limits for passengers, baggage and cargo and also spells out among other things in which places passengers can bring lawsuits against the airlines. Although most of the countries including India have ratified the Montreal Convention of 1999 which replaced the Warsaw Convention, some countries are yet to do the same. Hence the Warsaw Convention of 1929 is applicable in some cases even today. Know more going through this power point presentation.
