Consider the light beams emitted by a flashlight. Similarly, audio technology that creates focused sound beams exists. Specific listeners can be targeted with sound by ‘shining' it to one spot without others nearby hearing it. Its operation is based on non-linear acoustics. This acoustic device consists of a speaker that emits inaudible ultrasonic pulses with a very short wavelength that work similarly to a narrow column. Due to the non-linearity of air, the ultra sound beam functions as an airborne speaker and as it goes through the air, gradual distortion occurs in a predictable manner. This results in audible components that can be predicted and controlled precisely. Technology developers are trying to get into the vast commercial market for targeted or directed audio technology in entertainment and consumer devices. Audio spotlight technology, the most current and severe alteration in the way humans experience sound since the introduction of the coil loud speaker, may perform numerous miracles in diverse industries such as private messaging systems, home theatres, and so on.
