“Attention is what steers your perception, controls your reality. It is the gateway of the mind”- Apollo Robbins. Perception is part of the brain that interprets what we feel, hear, taste and touch into images that we can be able to understand before the mind takes any action. Attention picks the image and determines what the mind will concentrate on depending on our goals, past experience and areas of interest. Specifically, attention spans, the ability to shift attention, and sustained attention have all been found to be related to affect perception scores. The role of attention in perceptual learning has been a topic of controversy. The presentation provides better understanding on the topic.
