Astrophysics is a branch of space science that applies the laws of physics and chemistry to explain the birth, life and death of stars, planets, galaxies, nebulae and other objects in the universe. Astrophysics creates physical theories of small to medium-size structures in the universe. Astrophysics is the study of astronomical objects through the principles of physics. Astrophysicists try to understand the intricacies of our universe by examining things like the sun, solar system, exoplanets, dark matter, black holes, the interstellar medium, and other relevant parts of our cosmology. Studying Astronomy and Astrophysics helps us to understand Physics better. The energy scales and extreme environments in the universe can’t properly be simulated in our earth based labs. So, by studying about the celestial objects we can gain a better understanding of the physics at these extreme scales.
