Assamese literature, like the plethora of other Indian literatures from all regions, has its own particular set of peculiarities in each genre. Early Assamese literature, for example, has yet to blossom from the native impact of ancient Indian languages. Inscriptions, on the other hand, had been given the highest priority. Middle Assamese literature, on the other hand, began to egress the gradual improvement of literature in its many genres, including fields of education and scientific knowledge. Assamese literature has benefited greatly from the constant patronage and support of the erstwhile Assam state's reigning monarchs and dynasties. Early Assamese period, Middle Assamese period, and Modern Assamese period are the three major periods in the history of Assamese literature.
