Antibodies are proteins produced by immune system as an effort to protect from foreign bodies entering the body. The immune system can recognise and ignore body's own cells. Active immunization is generating immunity against the target while a foreign pathogen enter the blood stream. The immunity in this condition comes from T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes with their antibodies. Passive immunization are presynthesized elements of immunity transferred to the body as prevention. Vaccines are passive concentrated antibodies. Immunoglobulins (Ig) are antibodies and are categorised into five major classes as IgA, IgG, IgD, IgM and IgE. IgM is the first antibody formed from an immune response. IgA is found in saliva, tears and in mucous secretions which is an early antibody for bacteria and virus. IgG is found in tissues and plasma which is the antibody for bacteria and viruses. All antibodies are formed by B Cells. Any harm caused to the development of these cells affect antibody production. The topic can be understood in detail from the PowerPoint presentation.
