South India has been inhabited by human beings for thousands of years. Though it is not possible to know of everything that has transpired in history, there are ways in which we have been able to know of rulers and dynasties that have ruled us, the social and political scenarios in those eras, the economic systems prevalent and so on. Such information is only possible because of various historical sources available to us. One kind of the written sources are inscriptions, done either on stone or on copper plates. There are several inscriptions in Telugu, that have been found in several parts of South India. This presentation brings to you briefly some information on what inscriptions are, how they are made, and also highlights some popular inscriptions in Telugu and the information they contain.
దక్షిణ భారత దేశానికి అనేక వేల సంవత్సరాల చరిత్ర ఉన్నది. వేర్వేరు రాజులు, రాజ వంశాలు పరిపాలించారు. మరి మనం ఆ కాలంలో లేకున్నను మనకు ఆ చరిత్ర సంగతి కేవలం మనకు దొరికిన ఆధారాల ప్రకారంగానే తెలుసుకున్నాం. మనకు లభించిన ఆ ఆధారాలలో ముఖ్యమైనవి శాసనాలు. ఈ శాసనాలు అంటే ఏంటి? ఇవి ఎలా తయారు చేసేవారు? మన తెలుగు ప్రాంతాల్లో దొరికిన ముఖ్యమైన శాసనాలు ఏంటి? శాసనాల్లో రకాలు ఏంటి? అవి ఏ రాజ్యానికి సంబంధి౦చిన రాజు ఏ ప్రదేశంలో పెట్టించాడు? మరియు వీటి ప్రత్యేకత ఏంటి? ఇవన్నీ ఈ ప్రదర్శనలో తెలియజేయడం జరుగుతోంది.
