Amino acids, also known as protein building blocks, are compounds in your body that play a variety of important roles. They are required for vital processes like protein synthesis, hormone and neurotransmitter synthesis, and so on. Aside from their role in protein synthesis, amino acids serve a variety of biological functions. They are also energy metabolites, and many of them are vitamins and minerals. Amino acids are frequently used as chemical messengers in cell communication. Many scientists believe the shift was caused in part by a lively dance of molecules known as amino acids: molecules linked up, broke apart, and eventually came together to form life as we know it. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. View this PPT for more information.
